Release Jan 1, 2017. Longwood Gardens Holiday Photo Op.

Monday, November 27, 2017.  Spend a day-long photo opportunity at Longwood Gardens. Longwood Gardens is world renowned for their epic holiday light displays with over 4 million lights and dancing fountains. Longwood Gardens will definitely get you in the mood for the holiday season. Students are responsible for admission fee, meal and snacks. Van transportation will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Due to Longwood’s timed-ticket requirements, registration and non-refundable admission fee are due by November 1st. Limited to (8) current 2017 students.


Release Jan 1, 2017. PFKs is pleased to announce the expansion of youth photography and mixed media workshops on the west coast. In addition to the Level I workshop in Monterey CA, courses will offered for all skill levels in still photography and DLSR Video in Seattle, Washington. Check the course page for specific class location and dates.

Release Jan 1, 2017. PFKs is please to announce photography classes at the Latino, Hispanic, American Community Center (LHACC) in Harrisburg, PA. The center will offer two beginner still photography workshops; Course #100 - Introduction to Digital Photography Boot Camp - a one day class, and Course #101 - Fundamentals of Photography I - a 5-day workshop.  Both workshops will be held at LHACC. Release Jan 1, 2017. PFKs welcomes professional nature photographer Glen Baley. Mr. Baley will instruct the US west coast and develop international workshops. Mr. Baley received his Master of Science degree in Ecological Restoration and his images are well respected and represented around the world. He is an award winning photographer whose work is regularly featured in North America and international nature books, calendars and publications.

As one of the world’s top toy brands, LEGO has provided LEGO products and access to their creative design team to develop the creative side of photography using LEGO products. Beyond the typical LEGO brick, students can build more creative props and sets to better understand composition and Elements and Principles of Design.

Release Jan 1, 2017. Stop Motion Basics for Beginners. The workshop will teach you how to create stop motion videos from start to finish.  This workshop will be offered in Seattle and Harrisburg,

Release Jan 1, 2017. The Monarch Butterfly Project at Wildwood Park. PFKs will be working with the Wildwood Park naturalist in late August and September to capture the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly.  Students will learn how to create a time-lapsed video using DSLRs. More information will be available at the Level II orientation. Open to Level II students.

Release Jan 1, 2017. Merry Brickmas! Create your own holiday eCard photo project. Saturday, November 18, 2017. 9AM - 2PM. Students will build and photograph from a collection of holiday and geometric designs using LEGOs. This workshop will focus on advanced camera features, creative lighting, composition and design. Final output with be post processed for sending your holiday card via email, or make holiday cards using a quick print lab. You can even add text to your design. Open to all 2017 students in Level I, II and III Pro.
